The Round Brilliant also referred to as Ideal Cut diamond as always is the most popular diamond in the market. This shape can account for over 70% of ALL diamonds sold in the market. It is the also most brilliant diamond as well as the most expensive shape. When a Round Brilliant diamond is cut from the rough diamond you will lose more of the rough diamond than you would to cut a fancy shape, which is why the Round Brilliant diamond is more expensive.

Fancy shape diamonds are very popular right now. The square shape diamonds are much desired, but one shape in particular would be the Princess. The Princess is leading the pack for the most recent trend of fancy shape diamonds and is often purchased by trendsetters.
